What is Marry Me Chicken Pasta

Marry Me Chicken pasta is a one-pan recipe with pasta smothered in a sun-dried tomato cream sauce tossed with juicy chicken pieces and spinach.  The paprika, Italian spices, garlic, and onion add a wonderful depth of flavor to the rich, creamy sauce.  I love how you don’t have to cook the pasta separately for this recipe!  You simply add chicken broth and pasta to the pot you are already cooking in, put the lid on, and let all the wonderful flavors cook into the pasta.

How to Make Marry Me Chicken Pasta

This creamy pasta dish can be put together in under an hour by following the below step-by-step instructions:

1. In a large frying pan, heat one tablespoon of vegetable oil on medium-high heat.

Heat the oil on medium high heat to cook the chicken.

2. When the oil is hot, lay the chicken pieces in the pan and season with salt and pepper.

Add chicken in a single layer to the pan and season with salt and pepper.

3. After about 3-4 minutes, or when chicken has been seared golden brown, flip the chicken pieces and sear the other side for another 3 minutes.

Flip the chicken after cooking for around 3-4 minutes.

4. Once the chicken is done cooking, remove it from the pot and set it aside to be used later.

Once done cooking, remove the chicken from the pot and place aside until needed later.

5. Next, reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter in the pan. Add the chopped onion, and cook for about 4-5 minutes until translucent, stirring frequently.

In the same pot that you cooked the chicken, reduce heat to medium, melt the butter and cook onions for 4-5 minutes.

6. Then, add the minced garlic and stir for another minute until the garlic is fragrant and softened.

After onions are cooked, add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

7. Next, add the paprika, Italian spices, and sun dried tomatoes and give the mixture another stir.

After the garlic is cooked, add sun dried tomatoes, paprika, and Italian spices. Mix together until combined.

8. Then add the chicken broth, making sure to scrape the brown bits off the bottom of the pan.

Add chicken broth to the mixture.

9. Pour in the uncooked pasta, and cook pasta for around 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the broth has mostly been absorbed, and pasta is al dente.

Add rigatoni pasta to the chicken broth and cook for 15 minutes until cooked al dente.

10. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the tomato paste, cream, grated Parmesan, and spinach. Keep stirring until all the cheese has been melted into the sauce, the spinach is wilted, and the tomato paste has been mixed throughout.  Season with salt and pepper.

Add tomato paste, cream, parmesan cheese, and spinach and mix together.

11. Gently stir in the cooked chicken to the pasta and sauce.

Mix in cooked chicken to complete the marry me chicken pasta.

12. Transfer the chicken pasta to a serving dish, and garnish with fresh basil.  Enjoy!
